With over 15 years of experience in machining, maintenance, and precision manufacturing, Josh Stokes brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the classroom. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, he understands the importance of skilled trades in the region. He currently works as a machinist at Bettis Naval Nuclear Laboratories, where he manufactures and assembles complex components for nuclear research. Additionally, he serves as a Machinery Repairman First Class (specializing in precision machining and equipment maintenance) in the U.S. Navy Reserves, applying his expertise in precision machining and equipment maintenance to support naval operations all over the world.

Josh has an extensive background in industrial machining and maintenance, having worked at companies such as U.S. Steel, Union Electric Steel, Standard Forge Products, and Horix Manufacturing. His roles have included millwright, maintenance machinist, and precision CNC machinist, where he performed equipment maintenance, fabrication, and high-tolerance machining for heavy steel industry environments. His extensive hands-on experience in these roles, including CNC programming, fabrication, and precision machining, allows him to provide students with real-world insights into the machining trade.

Learning this skilled trade has not only secured Josh financially but has also opened numerous opportunities, both within the region and across the globe. Passionate about mentoring the next generation of machinists, Josh is dedicated to equipping students with the technical knowledge and practical skills needed for successful careers in manufacturing and machining.
