In the past year, the National Tooling & Machining Foundation (NTMF) has seen major transformations, especially with Workforce Development activities now falling under its umbrella. A dynamic Workforce Development Team has been established, bringing together industry leaders dedicated to preparing and providing a skilled workforce for the future of U.S. manufacturing. Among these leaders is Neil Ashbaugh, representing New Century Careers.
Reflecting on his involvement, Neil Ashbaugh stated, “It’s an honor and pleasure to be serving on this committee with such a great group of fellow workforce professionals looking to engage, train, and upskill the next generation of advanced manufacturing technicians.”
This group is set to align its goals with workforce initiatives focused on engaging the next generation, cultivating effective recruitment strategies for both youth and adults, and developing resources to support new workforce initiatives.
NCC has long been a champion of preparing individuals for rewarding careers in manufacturing through comprehensive training and educational programs. “New Century Careers is proud to be producing the future workforce through our MANUFACTURING 2000 (M2K) PA State registered pre-apprenticeship, and also supporting manufacturers with our registered apprenticeship for the job role of machinist. Together with industry, the future is very bright for continued growth and innovation in Southwestern PA,” Ashbaugh added.
As the team sets specific objectives and goals, we can anticipate the rollout of new resources and initiatives aimed at strengthening the industry’s workforce. This collaboration promises to not only enhance the skills of current workers but also inspire the next generation to pursue careers in manufacturing.
