Throughout 2024, New Century Careers (NCC) continued to make significant strides in its mission to strengthen the region’s advanced manufacturing workforce, celebrating a milestone 25th anniversary and a year of milestones, professional growth, and commitment to workforce development.

The 2024 Impact Report highlights the organization’s commitment to workforce development, including NCC’s recognition as a U.S. Department of Labor Apprenticeship Ambassador, a designation that underscores its leadership in expanding apprenticeship opportunities. Investments in training, such as new manual lathes, a collaborative robotic arm, and 3D printing technology, have enhanced hands-on learning experiences, ensuring trainees are prepared for the evolving manufacturing industry.

The report also shares success stories of individuals like Mason C., Robert C., Gabriel O., and Kenny G., who transitioned from NCC’s training programs into promising careers at partner companies. Their achievements exemplify the impact of NCC’s industry partnerships, which have grown to include over 130 manufacturers.

Neil Ashbaugh, President and CEO of New Century Careers, stated, “As we reflect on 25 years of impact, we are proud of the progress we’ve made in shaping the future of manufacturing. The continued support of our partners, funders, and community has allowed us to expand training opportunities and create lasting career pathways for individuals seeking a better future.

In addition to workforce development initiatives, NCC has remained active in community engagement, hosting facility tours for organizations such as the 171st Air Refueling Wing, Auberle, the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), and the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh. These outreach efforts ensure that more individuals have access to the training and resources needed to secure stable, well-paying careers in manufacturing.
