National Apprenticeship Week is a nationwide celebration that showcases the successes and value of Registered Apprenticeships for re-building the economy, advancing racial and gender equity, and supporting underserved communities.

NCC receives city council proclamation

November 15, 2022, New Century Careers received a proclamation from the City of Pittsburgh. The proclamation recognizes that Registered Apprenticeship can train our workforce and build a pipeline into good, quality jobs in order to address our nation’s pressing workforce challenges. As a result, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh now declares November 14 through November 20, 2022, as National Apprenticeship Week in the City of Pittsburgh.

Neil Ashbaugh speaks at ARM Institute

November 16, 2022, NCC President & CEO Neil Ashbaugh participated in the Nov. 16 ARM Institute 5th Annual Member Meeting at the Wyndham Grand. He presented details about NCC’s State Registered Robotics Technician Apprenticeship Program supported by ARM Institute and other partners.

Interviews with NCC partner companies on Registered Apprenticeship

Throughout the week, NCC participated in interviews with True Position and CP Industries about the values and benefits of Registered Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship. Previous MANUFACTURING 2000 program completers, Dominick Rucker and Terry Cousins participated in these interviews as well.

Both Dominick and Terry are involved in NCC’s State Registered Machinists Apprenticeship Program. Dominick is currently in his fourth and final year as an apprentice, and Terry completed his apprenticeship in August of 2022 and has earned his Journeyworker certificate.
