A Look Back at 25 Years of Training America’s Workforce

As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we reflect on the incredible journey of New Century Careers (NCC) and our unwavering commitment to equipping individuals with skills for successful careers in manufacturing. Since our founding in 1999, NCC has evolved, grown, and innovated in response to the changing needs of the manufacturing industry and the communities we serve. Here’s a look back at some of the pivotal milestones that have shaped NCC into the impactful organization it is today.

1999 - Official Incorporation and Opening of Our First Office

Incorporated in September 1999, NCC began its mission in the Regional Enterprise Tower in Pittsburgh. This foundation laid the groundwork for future growth, with early support from the RK Mellon Foundation, Heinz Endowments, and other key partners who believed in our vision. Our journey began with the MANUFACTURING 2000 (M2K) program, launched as a pilot cohort at Steel Center CTC. This initiative paved the way for our comprehensive training programs, which have since trained thousands in essential manufacturing skills.

NIMS was formed in 1995 to develop and maintain a globally competitive American workforce.

2019 - Launch of NCC Job Shop

To further support our mission, NCC launched the Job Shop in 2019. This initiative creates hands-on work experience for trainees and offers high-quality manufacturing services to local companies, providing a bridge from training to real-world application.
