Pittsburgh, PA— Sept, 6th 2024 — New Century Careers (NCC), in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh’s Community Engagement Center (CEC) in Homewood, proudly announces the launch of its MANUFACTURING 2000 Quick-Train Homewood program. A planned start on November 4th, 2024, this innovative program will continue through 2025 in bi-monthly cohorts, offering vital training to address the growing need for skilled workers in the manufacturing industry.
The MANUFACTURING 2000 Quick-Train program is designed to provide entry-level talent with the skills needed to meet the demands of the current job market. With a commitment to supporting Homewood and surrounding communities, this program is not only a stepping stone for those looking to enter the field but also a testament to NCC’s dedication to workforce development in underserved areas.
What You’ll Receive at Homewood:
- 120 hours of FREE TRAINING
- TWO Industry-Recognized Credentials
What You’ll Receive at Southside:
- Up to 480 hours of additional FREE TRAINING
- Opportunity to earn additional Industry Recognized Credentials
- Resume Building
- Job placement assistance
What You’ll Learn:
- Applied Math Theory
- Precision Measuring
- Blueprint Reading
- Layout
- Benchwork
What’s Unique:
- FREE transportation to and from training sites (Homewood & Southside)
- Upon completing Quick-Train, access to continued FREE training at NCC’s Southside location.
- Upon successful hire with a manufacturer, FREE transportation for up to 1 year. *

This program is funded in part by the Stevens Amendment, ensuring that these opportunities are available at no cost to participants, further lowering barriers to entry into the manufacturing industry.
