What is M2K Quick-Train? A fast-paced PA State Registered Pre-Apprenticeship program, offers entry-level machinist training and job placement assistance to qualified applicants at NO CHARGE. This is the first 120 hours of the MANUFACTURING 2000 program, which supplies area manufacturers with a diverse workforce to strengthen Southwestern Pennsylvania’s economy.

    What You’ll Receive at Homewood:

    • 120 hours of FREE TRAINING
    • TWO Industry Recognized Credentials

    What You’ll Receive at Southside:

    • Up to 480 hours of additional FREE TRAINING
    • Opportunity to earn additional Industry Recognized Credentials
    • Resume building
    • Job placement assistance

    What You’ll Learn:

    • Applied Math Theory
    • Precision Measuring
    • Blueprint Reading
    • Layout
    • Benchwork

    What’s Unique:

    • FREE transportation to and from training sites (Homewood & Southside).
    • Upon completing Quick-Train, access to continued FREE training at NCC’s Southside location.
    • Upon successful hire with a manufacturer, FREE transportation for up to 1 year. *

    The total cost of the New Century Careers’ “Quick Train” program administered in the University of Pittsburgh’s Community Engagement Center, Homewood, PA, is $500,000. $500,000 (100%) is funded through the U.S. Department of Labor – Employment and Training Administration grant.
