New Century Careers Opens New Training Innovation Center
PITTSBURGH,
Pa. -- On May 10, 2004, New Century Careers opened the doors of its new Training Innovation Center . Located in the historic Terminal Buildings on the Southside, the Center houses a full array of manual machines and tools, top-notch CNC machining centers, cutting-edge CNC simulators and a 25-seat classroom equipped with state-of-the-art computer work stations that support a wide platform of manufacturing software programs.
New Century Careers is very enthused about brining into the inner city a manufacturing training center to support NCC's entry-level and advanced manufacturing programs. Industry data shows that 44% of the manufacturing jobs in Southwestern PA are located in or near our industrial river valleys and city neighborhoods. The new Training Innovation Center is easily accessible to public transportation using the light rail system and PAT buses and is walking distance to many Southside residents.
Through the combined efforts of New Century Careers and area manufacturers, educators, foundations and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania , residents from the Pittsburgh MSA have greater access to the latest training in machining, welding and advanced manufacturing processes .
Every program, every partnership, and every commitment we make at New Century Careers leads to one of three goals:
-
Preparing individuals with manufacturing skills and credentials.
-
Linking people with career opportunities in manufacturing.
-
Filling the critical workforce gaps of manufacturers.
